Swallow of the Future

“Mon Coeur au Bénin,” from Paris to Cotonou: the film that chronicles 20 years of dedication.

For more than twenty years, a story has been unfolding away from the spotlight: the story of grassroots work in Benin, alongside children, young people, women, and isolated families supported by Hirondelle de l’Avenir.

With “Mon Coeur au Bénin,” this story is now coming to life on the big screen. After two sold-out screenings in Paris at the Forum des images, the documentary reached a milestone with its first screening outside France, at the Majestic Cinéma in Cotonou.

This screening in Benin was much more than a symbolic milestone:it highlighted nearly twenty years of sustained, needs-basedinitiatives carried out in both the north and south of the country.

Our Founder and President, Sophie Thouvenel, was present for the occasion—visibly moved—and was accompanied by individuals who shared how the support they received from Hirondelle de l’Avenir had changed the course of their lives.

“Mon Coeur au Bénin” is now continuing its festival run. It will continue to be screened in Benin thanks to the support of the Institut Français.
