Swallow of the Future

INTEGRATION GRANT

THE SWALLOW MARKET

Education and employment are the fundamental pillars that enable these women to live in complete freedom, overcoming the financial and social difficulties they face.

BACKGROUND

In Benin, the situation regarding girls' education is worrying. According to statistics, the literacy rate among girls remains lower than that of boys, with only 50% of girls having access to quality basic education

This disparity in access to education significantly limits the professional opportunities available to young women in Benin, leaving them with limited job prospects, mainly in the informal sector and with lower wages. This situation has harmful consequences for the country's economic and social development, hindering women's full participation in economic life and reducing their influence in decision-making.

In the summer of 2019, Benin hosted the first boot camp organized by École de Vision in partnership with the association Woman For Young Women (Togo), contributing to the development and empowerment of 15 vulnerable young girls by facilitating their access to quality programs.

We want to encourage young women to develop a balanced life that integrates personal, economic, and social aspects, while aligning with their aspirations, skills, interests, and values.

Today, all these young girls have been taken in by the Bourse des Hirondelles.

Most share similar stories of abuse, abandonment, and coping with parental loss at a very young age.

We aim to foster the emergence of young female leaders and role models who actively contribute to the development of their environment and, on a larger scale, their community and nation.
